Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi harassed by angry mob at relief camp

11 people were killed and 7 injured in clashes on August 12 and 13

New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was heckled and harassed by an angry mob when he was visiting a relief camp for violence-affected people along the border in Nagaland.

CRPF personnel were forced to fire shots in the air and disperse the crowd.

Gogoi had to leave the camp within 10 minutes, as the situation grew ugly. The troubled chief minister has also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help restore peace in Uriamghat along the Assam-Nagaland border.
