Telangana to choose government officers first
3 senior-most officers from the IAS, IPS and the IFS cadre will be allotted to Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana state will get IAS, IPS and IFS officers first, ahead of AP, after it won the draw of lots on Saturday. The Centre-appointed Prathyush Sinha Committee conducted the draw of lots in New Delhi to decide which state must get the preference for allotment of officers.
With this, three senior-most officers from the IAS, IPS and the IFS cadre will be allotted to Telangana. The subsequent seniors will go to AP by following the roster system. The roster point is given by the government to every post based on seniority of service and reservation quota.
For instance, roster point 1 is given to the CS post, the next roster point is given to the next higher post. Official sources said there would not be many changes as far as local officers are concerned; most of them will continue to serve existing states as per the “provisional allotment” made earlier.
