Telangana Chief Minister KCR gives vaastu tips on Assembly, Speaker’s room
CM asked to make seating arrangements for 160 MLAs inside the Assembly
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has suggested some vaastu changes in the Speaker’s chambers and Assembly for the ensuing Budget Session.
The Chief Minister, who met Assembly Speaker Madhusudhana Chary, Legislative Council Chairman Swami Goud and legislature staff to oversee arrangements for the Budget Session slated for early next month, reportedly gave some vaastu tips.
Mr Rao went around the Assembly and asked the staff to carry out repairs to buildings, roads and maintain the garden.
In view of paucity of time, the legislature staff reportedly informed the Chief Minister that it can be carried out after the Assembly Session. Mr Rao, who believes in vaastu and traditions, asked the Legislature department to reduce the number of seats inside the Assembly from the present 304 to 160.
In the combined Andhra Pradesh, the total number of MLAs was 294 plus one nominated from the Anglo Indian community, totalling 295 while there are seating arrangements for 304 legislators.
After bifurcation of the state, Telangana state now has only 119 MLAs while the present seating is for 304. After delimitation and reorganisation of Assembly constituencies, the Assembly segments will go up to 153.
“153 being an odd number, the Chief Minister suggested Legislature department to make seating arrangements for 160 MLAs inside the Assembly in tune with vaastu,” it is learnt.
Mr Rao too wanted chances in Speaker chambers, especially the steps used by Speaker to the main Assembly hall after the BAC meeting.
During the discussion, it was also decided to share Assembly maintenance and repairs in the ration of 58:42. This issue too would be taken up when CMs of both states hold meeting at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Governor. Chief Minister asked legislature officials to ensure proper arrangements since assembly sessions of both the states would be held simultaneously.
