Hyderabad: AP will have a month of absolutely no power cuts, and it is likely to continue.
With power demand having come down and the power pool turning comfortable due to inflows at hydro power stations officials are gearing up to continue this as part of the PFA scheme, and has made arrangements for buying power.
At present hydel generation is around 20 mu. Demand is now at 147 mu per day, and as per estimates it can touch 170 mu during the peak season.
“Meanwhile, tie-ups for 2000 MW is under process, and work is being expedited at the 800 MW Krishnapatnam plant and the 800 MW VTPS. The 960 MW hydro power plant at Polavaram is also being speeded up,” said an insider.
