Ban on transfers set to go in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: The AP government plans to lift the ban on general transfers for a month from September 1. The government will issue orders to this effect in the next few days.
The government took the decision at the last cabinet meeting to ban transfers from August 14, but due to a delay the file was sent to Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao for approval just a few days ago.
The Chief Secretary said that instead of making transfers in the middle of the month it would be better to order transfers from September 1 to September 30. The file has been sent to Chief Minister Naidu for approval. Sources said that the CM will accept the Chief Secretary’s proposal on general transfers and orders will be issued after approval. The transfers will be applicable to district and zonal level officers. State cadre officers have been allotted to both states on the basis of the provisional list.
Permanent allotment will take some more time. The transfers of district and zonal level officers will be done on counselling basis. Government will issue guidelines along with the orders of lifting ban on general transfers.
Chief Minister Naidu instructed ministers to ensure that transfers would be done from the village level to district level officers. He also asked ministers to transfer employees who were posted three months ago.
