Hyderabad: It’S freedom ride for all
Flagged by K. Taraka Rama Rao, state minister for IT and panchayat raj, was the sixth edition of Hyderabad’s corporate cycling extravaganza Freedom Ride 2014. More than 10,000 people took part in this ride which started from the Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad, at 7 am. One of the highlights was the women’s segment ‘Strong Woman, Strong Nation’ and the ‘Strong Youth, Strong Nation’ rides, which were attended by around 1,000 riders.
Ready, Steady, Go: ‘Freedom Ride’ is also the first event in the recently launched “Happening Hyderabad” initiative by the Government of Telangana
Young guns:Schools across the city were abuzz with activities as students took part in various festivities. Bachpan, a play school in Himayathnagar, organised a play where children enacted the struggle behind achieving the Independence. Another school in the city, Stepping Stones (Secunderabad), organised a fancy dress competition for its students.

At a city star hotel recently, members from the Deepshikha Mahila Club got together for a session with vaastu shastra professor C.V.B. Subrahmanyam and jyotshi vidvaan V. Ananth. The women were dressed in the colours of the national flag as they took part in the session.
