Three city policemen bagged the Chief Minister’s police medal in recognition of their services
Coimbatore:Three city policemen bagged the Chief Minister’s police medal in recognition of their service and timely intelligence inputs to combat fundamentalism. J.K. Gopi, inspector of police (law and order), Peelamedu, bagged the award for cracking a murder case in Theni district during 2013. A native of Madurai who settled down in Ottanchathiram of Dindigul district, Gopi completed M.Sc Biology and joined as sub-ispector in 1999, working at Thoothukudi, Dindigul and Theni.
During 2013, when he was inspector of police in Theni district, he cracked a murder case and arrested the accused within two days. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Gopi explained how he had solved the murder mystery with the help of a memory card and exhumation of the body.
S. Chandra Mohan, inspector of police (law and order), Variety Hall road, bagged the Chief Minister’s police medal for cracking a murder case in Coimbatore. A native of Vaniyambadi taluk of Vellore district, he completed his B.Sc Physics in 1991 and joined the police force.
In 2000, he was appointed direct sub-inspector of Thoothukudi district. He cracked a murder case in 2013 with the help of an Internet protocol address since he has experience in cyber crime. M. Kanagasabapathy, inspector of police, Ukkadam, bagged the award for cracking the Muskan and Rithik case and arresting accused Manoharan from Pollachi.
Kanagasabapathy, a native of Modakurichi, in Erode district, completed his M.A. History and joined as sub-inspector of police in 1997 in Coimbatore. In 2012, he returned to Coimbatore to work as inspector in the Variety Hall road police station. Here, he cracked the Muskan and Rithik murder case and arrested Manoharan from Pollachi.
