Puducherry Chief Minister pulls temple chariot
It had been the convention in Puducherry to drag the chariots of the temples
Puducherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, accompanied by his ministerial colleagues and legislators, dragged the chariot of Sengazhuneer Amman temple in the coastal village of Veerampattinam here on Friday. Mr Rangasamy, along with Speaker V. Sabapathy and others, later offered worship at the ancient temple.
It had been the convention in Puducherry that either the head of the state (Lt Governor) or head of the elected ministry should drag the chariots of the temples in and around Puducherry during annual festivals.
