Bengaluru: Asserting that his government’s desire was to ensure honesty and transparency in administration, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday ruled out reconsidering the decision to cancel the appointment of candidates by the Karnataka Public Service Commission in 2011.Participating in Independence Day celebrations at the Field Marshal Manekshaw parade ground here, he appealed to people to ignore those were trying to give a humanitarian face to irregularities in recruitment.
In a clear reference to JD(S) leader, H.D. Kumaraswamy, who has been attacking the government on the issue, he said, “Even when investigations have indicated some irregularities in recruitments and decisions are taken on such findings, vested interests are trying to stoke emotional feelings, which is against public interest.
“This needs to be recognised by the people. Those who try to give a humanitarian face to such irregularities should be shunned.”Mr Siddaramaiah regretted that the good work done by his government had gone unrecognised. Although the government had framed various policies for overall development of all sections and implemented numerous pro-people policies without going to town about them, efforts were being made to find fault with its decisions and actions, he lamented, noting, “In any society, you find a small group of such people.”
