New Delhi: Pakistan high commissioner to India Abdul Basit said on Thursday that his country extends “full diplomatic and moral support” for the “legitimate struggle” of Kashmiris. The Pak envoy made these remarks during the Pak independence day celebrations at the High Commission.
“I would also like to reaffirm Pakistan’s full diplomatic and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their legitimate struggle which is enshrined in the UN Charter and universal declaration of human rights,” he said.
The provocative remarks have come just days ahead of the meeting of the foreign secretaries of the two countries in Islamabad. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had accused Pakistan of waging a “proxy war” against India to which Pak had responded sharply.
