Chennai: Sheer patriotism and love for music were the impetus for R. Kumar Narayanan to come up with the music video, ‘Hey Hindustan’, in time for Independence Day. The three minute song was made by compiling raw footage, owing to budget constraints, and incorporating high quality visuals that epitomise the nation’s vibrant cultural diversity, says the musician. Kumar himself has sung the song along with singer, Rita.
The song emphasises the role of children in Nation building, the sacrifices made by the Indian Army and PM Narendra Modi. “The myriad cultures, dance forms and artistic history were other prominent elements I wanted to convey through the song,” he says.
