Telangana to give clarity soon on the proposed state wide survey
State gov to give a detailed classification on the aims and objectives
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has initiated the process to give a detailed clarification to the Centre on the aims and objectives of the Intensive Household survey to the Centre.
The state government wants to make it clear that the survey is basically to assess social and economic status of each and every household and has nothing to do with identifying “nativity” as has been complained by the AP government and its MPs. It is being done only to weed out bogus beneficiaries of various government schemes besides ensuring that the benefits reach only genuine people.
Moreover, the survey aims to devise new schemes and plans for the overall development of the people in the coming five years. The Telangana government has also decided to send the survey questionnaire format to prove that there is no “nativity column” or questions such as “from which state does the family hail from”, “when did the family come to Hyderabad” etc.
The government wants to clarity to the Centre that the AP government has been unnecessarily trying to create fear and doubts among the people in the city by publicising wrong questionnaire formats that were not approved by the government.
The final questionnaire format has been kept in public domain on the government’s official website.
Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma will write to the Centre explaining these issues once the government gets the official communication from the Union home ministry.
