Special Purpose Vehicles for metros in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada

The SPVs will be entirely owned by the government

Hyderabad: In a significant move towards construction of the Metro Rail project in Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri urban area and Visakhapatnam, AP government on Wednesday formed two separate Special Purpose Vehicles to execute the projects.

The SPVs will be entirely owned by the government.

Principal secretary (municipal administration) D. Sambasiva Rao said, “The Metro Rail Mass Rapid Transit System in Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri area will include four corridors and will cover 49 km in first phase. In Visakhapatnam it will have four corridors and will cover 20 km in first phase.”
