SAP’s solution can help Tangedgo in energy efficiency, says IT expert
New Delhi: The Tamil Nadu government, which is keen on ensuring uninterrupted power supply, could hope to achieve energy efficiency if it utilised the services of SAP Forum for Public Services – a software partner in delivering good governance by flexing the latest technologies, says Mathew Thomas, vice president – strategic industries, SAP India sub-continent.
The expertise available with SAP could facilitate Tangedco to strive at energy efficiency. “In fact, our product, aiming at ensuring that the government achieves the most out of technology to provide accruing benefits to citizens, will provide information on losses and smart meter analysis too,” Mr Mathew adds. Speaking to this correspondent here on Wednesday, he says the TN government’s IT policy had attracted big investments.
The Indian Navy, with a Rs 33,000-crore annual budget, had been utilising SAP’s services and Bharat Electronics, Bengaluru, had done away with over 50,000 files by embracing cloud hosting while Amul, was also backed by the SAP system, he says, arguing that cloud, big data and mobility would help improve the overall efficiency of the government. “The file life cycle management, dispensing with the use of files, and cloud hosting are proven and tested technologies that could minimise costs. Cloud technology is safe and secure. There is no question of security breach. It will revolutionise administration,” Mr Mathew says.
