Alleged conman posed as Amit Shah's relative, promised BJP ticket
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: A man was arrested on Wednesday for posing as a relative of BJP president Amit Shah and duping people by promising them party tickets in the upcoming Assembly by-polls.
On the complaint of BJP headquarter incharge Bharat Dixit, police arrested Chaudhary Kunwar Singh from Gomti hotel in Hazratganj police station area in Lucknow.
Forms required for party's identity card, ATM cards of different banks, over Rs. 55 thousand in cash, gold finger rings and six silver coins were seized from Chaudhary, who hails from Shravasti district, police said.
He posed as a relative of the BJP chief and introduced himself to people as Pankaj Shah. He duped people by promising them party tickets for the assembly by-polls, police said, adding, that the man has accepted committing fraud.
