Chennai:Mollywood actress Swasika, who earned much attention for her fabulous performance in her debut Tamil film and a romantic one too Vaigai, worked in movies like Maidhanam and Saattai, and vanished from the scene. In all, through her six K’town movies, the svelte actress was seen only as a rural belle. Having got busy with Malayalam flicks, Swasika is back to where she started to Tamil. Looks like she has taken an all new avatar of a modern girl in her forthcoming film, titled Panduvam.
Directed by Shivakumar, Panduvam is a thriller, set in a medical college. Why the strange title? “It has a relevance to the subject,” says the director, ‘Panduvam’ meaning the treatment given during primitive times.
Sources add that the film also reveals the hidden crisis in the medical industry. Swasika essays a medical student from the city and Sitesh is the male lead. It seems her recent portfolio with trendy attires has proved fruitful. “For the first time in a Tamil film, I have got the chance to sport modern glam costumes. All the same it is well within the script and I have a solid role to perform."
