Surge in online registration for RSS

RSS has set up a call centre in New Delhi called 'Kendriya Suchana Kendra'

New Delhi: With Narendra Modi’s rise to power, online registration of RSS swayamsevaks has witnessed a rapid increase. While only around 200 people were registering online every month to become RSS swayamsevaks before Mr Modi became the Prime Minister, after May this year this has shot up to 17,000 across the country.

Charged up by this rapid intake, the RSS has set up a call centre in New Delhi called “Kendriya Suchana Kendra.” Given Mr Modi’s stress on technology, this hi-tech call centre monitors the interaction between swayamsevaks and registered members.

The RSS has started a special shakha for IT and management professionals called “IT Milan.”

The RSS’ Delhi prachar pramukh, Rajeev Tuli, said that for the past two years the average online registration used to be only 200 people a month. “This has now shot up to 15,000 in May and 17,664 in June this year from across the country”? he said, adding, “In the last three days, 250 people from Delhi alone have signed up to join the Sangh.”

Mr Tuli also said “Some of the people who join us are interested in doing social service. Therefore, we put them in our services in sewa bastis, hospitals and other areas according to their interest.”

The number of volunteers has seen a rapid rise after the formation of the BJP government.
