Assassins are back!

The sequel to Black Flag is to watch out for
Ubisoft has announced the long-rumoured sequel to Assassins Creed Black Flag, making it the second Assassin's Creed game coming out this year. Playing as templar named Shay Patrick Cormac, you will undergo a transformation as the game shows how an Assassin turns into an Assassin Hunter. Marketed as “the darkest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise”, Shay is tasked with thinning the ranks of the Assassins.
The game is centered on three unique environments: North Atlantic Ocean, The River Valley and New York City from AC III. Important characters from the previous 2 games, including Haytham and Adewaleare expected to make a return, so don't think this is just a random spin off to make a quick buck.
This is a true sequel to Black Flag, which was a Game of the Year contender for 2013 as well as considered to be one of the best games in the series. Shay’s ship is called The Morrigan and you fight your way through the icy environment of the North Atlantic Ocean. It builds upon the naval combat from AC IV and gives you access to a bigger arsenal. Enemies even try to board your ship and overthrow your crew, which radically changes how you approach naval combat. You will ram through ice sheets and discover hidden locations, as well as use icebergs as cover during ship battles.
It doesn’t seem like Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will have a significant present day storyline or include any of the changes made to parkour and stealth in Unity, the current gen version of the franchise. Nor does it have any sort of multiplayer, co-operative or competitive avenue, though I'm sure not many people will miss those aspects at all.
