Telangana state to go ahead with FAST scheme

AP government has been waiting for the GO to be issued by the Telangana

Hyderabad: For those who can afford to pay the fees, it will not be a problem. For those coming from socially and economically weaker sections, whose annual family income is less than Rs 1 lakh per annum, it is essential to know whether they are eligible for the fee reimbursement scheme or not before depositing their original certificates at the counselling centre.

“With the Supreme Court not giving any directions on nativity or fee reimbursement, we will go ahead with the process to issue eligibility norms. A consensus on majority of the norms has already been reached at the government level during series of meetings conducted by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao over the issue.

The norms will be finalised and will be issued before the commencement of Eamcet counselling," said education minister G. Jagadeeshwar Reddy.

The AP government is planning to move the SC again challenging the 1956 cut-off year to determine nativity once the Telangana government issues orders in this regard.

The AP government has been waiting for the GO to be issued by the Telangana government, without which it cannot challenge it in the court of law.
