Student who had written Eamcet just after dad died in mishap fails to pass

The student has decided to pursue B.Com instead of wasting a year

Hyderabad: A student, who had bravely appeared for the Eamcet, just after his father had died in a road accident, could not clear the test.

While the qualifying marks to clear the examination is 40 out of 160 marks, D. Uday Kumar secured 35 marks and became ineligible to attend Eamcet engineering counselling set to commence in Telangana.

Uday, from Bhongir, was going to the examination centre in Nalgonda on a two-wheeler, which was being driven by his father Raghavender. Their vehicle was hit by a lorry near Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, killing Raghavender on the spot while, Uday sustained minor injuries.

Uday refused to leave his father’s side, but his family persuaded him to take the examination. They told him it would be the best tribute to his father.

“My father’s dream was to see me pursue higher studies. I wrote the examination to fulfill his dream. I steeled myself and appeared for the test even after seeing my father die in front of my eyes,” said Uday after appearing in the exam on May 22.

However, the results announced on June 9 left Uday terribly disappointed. But he has decided to pursue B.Com from a local degree college and continue his higher studies instead of wasting a year.
