Ramalinga Raju gets summons for September 15

Hyderabad:The special court hearing of the multi-crore Satyam Computer Services Limited scam case in Nampally asked the accused to appear before the court on September 15. The accused in the case are B. Ramalinga Raju, his brother and Satyam’s former MD B. Rama Raju, ex-CFO Vadlamani Srinivas, former PwC auditors Subramani Gopalak-rishnan and T. Srinivas, Raju's another brother B. Suryanarayana Raju, former employees G. Ramakrishna, D. Venkatpathi Raju and Srisailam, and Satyam’s former internal chief auditor V. S. Prabhakar Gupta.
Noted as the country’s biggest accounting fraud, the Satyam scam came to light in January 2009 after Mr Ramalinga Raju allegedly confessed to manipulating the company’s account books and inflating profits over many years. He was arrested by the Crime Investigation Department of Andhra Pradesh police. Later, the CBI took over the investigation.
Mr Ramalinga Raju and others were charged with offences ranging from cheating, criminal conspiracy, forgery, breach of trust under relevant sections of IPC, besides allegedly falsifying returns through violation of various I-T laws.
