Jammu and Kashmir is part of India: K Kavitha

Hyderabad: TRS MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday said in the Lok Sabha that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. She said this while speaking on the adjournment motion regarding the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. Recently, in an interview she gave to an English daily, she had said that Kashmir as well as Telangana state were forcefully annexed with India. The interview invited widespread criticism and created confusion. On Monday, Ms Kavitha rectified her statement and clearly spoke about the fact that the state of J&K was very much part of India. When she spoke about Kashmiri Pandits and highlighted their agonies, members of the House applauded and praised her understanding of the situation.
