Officials to visit homes before Intensive Household survey

Hyderabad: As per the GHMC officials, residents who need LPG connections, passports and other important aid and documents from the government, must provide their details in the upcoming hou-sehold survey.

During the pre-visit, a checklist will be given defining the documents to be produced on August 19, the day of the Samagra Kutumba Survey 2014, which is aimed at creating a database of all household in Telangana.

Citizens can simply go through their previous bills for tap connection details, property tax details, electricity details.

Regarding caste certificates, birth certificates, physically challenged certificates etc. they may produce photocopies of the same to the enumerator.

In order to make the IHS simple, a pamphlet and a checklist in three languages will be given to households on August 17 and 18 during the pre-survey visit.

A sticker will be pasted on the house door during the pre-visit and citizens will be given the contact number of the enumerator to clear up further doubts.

In case the enumerator does not turn up by August 17 night, one can call on the 24X7 helpline 21 11 11 11.

Meanwhile, following the announcement of the Intensive House-hold Survey to be held on August 19, buses and trains from Mumbai to Telangana are running packed with thousands rushing back home to enroll in the state-wide survey.

Lakhs of people from the Telangana State had migrated to states like Maharashtra and Gujarat in search of livelihood.

Nearly eight lakh such people reportedly live in Mumbai alone.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that only people who are enrolled in the survey will be eligible for welfare schemes and benefits offered by the state government in future.

People are now frantically asking their near and dear ones to return home at any cost for the survey. “It’s a mad rush out there. Everything is packed till August 18,” said a travel agency.
