Ajay Devgn takes the regional route towards production
Mumbai: Of late several Bollywood stars have been turning producers for regional films and the latest to join the bandwagon is Ajay Devgn.
The actor will be producing a Marathi film,Vitti Dandu.
Our source says, “Ajay’s production house will be presenting a periodic drama film called Vitti Dandu which is slated to release by the end of the year. It’s the first time that the actor is getting associated with a Marathi film. The trailer of the film will be attached to the upcoming Singham Returns.”
Speaking more about the film, the source adds, “The story focuses on the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson. It deals with the questions of love for the country versus a more personal love. The film is directed by Ganesh Kadam and it isn’t clear at the moment whether or not Ajay has a special appearance in it.”
Among other Bollywood actors who have recently ventured into regional cinema is Riteish Deshmukh. His latest Marathi film Lai Bhari turned out to be the highest grossing Marathi film ever. Earlier, the Akshay Kumar-produced Marathi film 72 Miles Ek Pravas also received much critical acclaim.
