17 Indian workers stuck in Saudi Arabia
Srikakulam: At least 17 fishermen from Santhabommali mandal of Srikakulam district are being harassed by their masters in Saudi Arabia. The workers who were promised a good future went to Saudi by paying money to agents.
The issue came to light when the victims called their dear ones. TD Srikakulam MP, K. Rammohan Naidu requested Union home minister Rajnath Sin-gh to save the workers as the family members of the workers are worried about their safety.
The stranded workers, S.Guruvulu, S.Simhachalam, Ch.Rajulu, G.Pothaiah of Geddalapadu, Ch.Lokeswara Rao, Ch.KrishnaRao, Ch.DhanRaj, Ch.Krishna of Chinnamaruvada and workers from other villages R.Sunnapalli, Seethanagaram, Sriramvaripeta, Jalaripeta, Bhavanapadu, Manchineellapeta and Palasa under Santhabommali mandal have explained their bad condition and harassment of their masters to their family members and relatives over phone.
According to the family members of workers Ch.Krishna, S.Guruvulu, S.Simhachalam and others, that they have paid Rs 80,000 to 1 lakh to a travel agent of Tamilanadu to get better employment in Saudi Arabia.
