Pro-Rayalaseema bodies to lobby for Kurnool as Andhra Pradesh capital

Anantapur: Pro-Rayalaseema agitators are planning to use Independence Day celebrations at Kurnool to mount pressure on the government to consider Kurnool as state capital.

With the Chief Minister and other ministers hinting at a new capital in Vijayawada-Guntur, Rayalaseema protesters are angry over Kurnool being neglected even though it was a capital earlier.

Except the Telugu Desam, all other parties are planning to start an agitation demanding state capital during Independence Day celebrations, scheduled to be held at Battalion Grounds in Kurnool.
