AP Congress Committee starts to rebuild Congress

Senior leaders echoed in their views on reviving the party from the grassroot level

Tirupati: AP Congress Committee led by its president Raghuveera Reddy started the exercise of rebuilding the party after its defeat in the 2014 general elections.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy along with his predecessor Mr Botsa Satyanarayana and Congress leader Mr C. Ramachandraiah offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala early on Sunday seeking divine intervention to strengthen their party.

Later in the day, the state PCC wing organised the first ever district review meeting of the Congress in Tirupati which was attended by senior leaders including Mr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, J.D. Seelam and others.

The senior leaders echoed in their views on reviving the party right from the grassroots level across the 13 districts of the residual state of Andhra Pradesh.

The senior leaders also unanimously felt that the urgent need of the hour was to appoint spokespersons of the party to make the presence of the party strongly felt across all the constituencies in the state.

The party also decided to initiate a series of protests across the state to pressurize the state government to implement the loan waiver scheme promised to the farming community and the Dwacra groups immediately.
