Washington/Baghdad: The Islamic State, formerly has called on its members to retaliate against the US as the American military continues to strike their positions in Iraq. “To kill America lies in oil. It must be cut to end the life of America. Destroying the destructive American economy will bring America to its knees, and this is through the supply lines in the Gulf,” jihadist media group Tarjuman al-Asawirti was quoted as saying by International Business Times.
Top American lawmakers have supported the Obama Administration’s decision to carry out limited and targeted air strikes against Islamic State militants and asked the US government to “forcefully confront” the challenges being posed by terrorists.
