Telangana gov has communicated that it is not going to handover law and order
Hyderabad: Telangana chief secretary Dr Rajeev Sharma in his reply to the ministry of home affairs said the views of the state government of Telangana regarding handing over law and order in Hyderabad to the Governor, were communicated earlier on July 5, 2014.
“It is to reiterate that the state government has its own responsibility as per law, laid down procedures and the rules of business to deal with law and order under the Constitution and prescribing any detailed administrative arrangements or procedural norms in this regard falls within the domain of state government, which will take necessary action as per law and the provisions of the AP State Reorganisation Act.” The chief secretary ended the letter stating that, “This issue is with the approval of the competent authority.”
Earlier, in the day, the chief secretary called on Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and discussed the issue. Dr Sharma later met Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and reportedly conveyed the state government’s stance on the issue.
