Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao downplays Telangana survey rumours
Harish Rao said that the survey ensures that the welfare measures reach the right people
Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao dispelled rumours surrounding the Intensive House-hold Survey to be conducted on August 19. He said the survey aims to find out the socio-economic status of people in order to provide welfare schemes.
“There is no ulterior motive. It is for the good of the people. We want to ensure that the welfare measures reach the right people,” said Mr Rao.
Mr Rao, who held a review meeting with Medak district officials, added the survey was to be held in one day to check double-enrollment and misuse of welfare schemes.
Denying the survey was aimed at segregating a section of people, Mr Rao said the data would be used for welfare schemes.
