Congress MLA 'dresses up' Aamir Khan's controversial poster
Mumbai: A Congress MLA on Saturday organised a novel protest against actor Aamir Khan here by dressing up a cutout of the actor from the controversial poster of his upcoming film 'PK'.
The poster, which has Aamir in the buff, has left many intrigued, while also raising the hackles of puritans.
Asking Aamir to withdraw the "vulgar" poster, suburban Vile Parle MLA Krishna Hegde said, "Through media, I would like to convey to Aamir that the poster is in bad taste. It has appeared in several newspapers and has gone viral on social media."
"We dressed up a cutout of the offensive poster here to register our protest. Aamir should withdraw the poster as it offends sensibilities," Hegde said.
"Aamir should remember that there are families and children who read newspapers and watch the ad on TV," he said.
"I will write to Aamir in this regard tomorrow," he said. Aamir has defended the ad, saying, "It's not for publicity." Calling it "key art", Aamir said it depicts the story of the film.
The poster features Aamir posing nude with a strategically placed boombox.
