Actors talk about how they spend the day with their sisters and the gifts they give on the day

Indulgent brother
Actor Nithiin says that though he and his sister Nikhitha meet regularly, rakhi is always special. When asked about her gift, he says, “My sister bought a villa in a gated community and I bought all the furniture and other requirements for the house. This is my gift to her this year.”
Long distance bond
Actor Aadi’s elder sister Jyothirmayi is a doctor and lives in Belgaum, Karnataka. As she can’t come to Hyderabad, she sends the rakhi to the actor. “This year I am busy with my film promotions and can’t visit my sister. She is also busy with her family and will send the rakhi,” says Aadi. When asked about the gift he is planning on getting her, he says, “I will buy a car and gift it when I visit later.”
A date with the sisters
Actor Sharwanand says, “My elder sister Radhika stays in the US and she sends a rakhi for me. I have two younger sisters in Hyderabad. The three of us will head out for dinner to celebrate the festival. I will also give them gifts. Rakhi is a sweet festival and it is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your sisters. Next week I am off to the US and will catch up with my other sibling.”
Role reversal
Brothers spoiling their sisters with gifts is usually the norm during rakhi, but actress Samantha likes to do things differently. This year, the actress who has two brothers, is not only tying a rakhi to her brother who lives in Chennai, but she is also gifting him an expensive watch. Her other sibling lives in the US.
High maintenance sibling
Talking about his and Manoj’ sister Manchu Lakshmi, Vishnu says, “Not just for rakhi, she regularly demands and takes gifts from me. But on this special occasion she ties the rakhi and demands more.” Last year she demanded Rs 3 lakh since she wanted to buy something.
Manoj is travelling and is expected to be back for rakhi. “If he is not coming, I have to give his quota too to her,” he laughs.
