Stone set for water scheme
Nizamabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao set the foundation stone for the Rs 114-crore integrated drinking water scheme in Armoor municipality. In his maiden visit to Nizamabad district as the chief minister, he participated in several programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed the public health officials to complete the drinking water scheme in a year.
The CM sanctioned Rs 11.50 crore for clearing of red jowar arrears to the farmers. In view of TRS election promise, he sanctioned the amount and said the agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and, MLAs will hand over the cheques to the farmers in 10 days.
He also sanctioned a 100-bed hospital for Armoor residents.
In Nizamabad, KCR directed the officials to complete underground drainage and bypass road work on a war footing basis. He said that a memorial garden and children’s park should be developed in the town. He said that nurseries should be raised in the government offices including the camp offices of senior officers.
The Chief Minister made it clear that there is no dearth of funds and officials should work for the people. Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, CM Peshi officer Smitha Sabharwal, district collector D. Ronald Rose and others were present.
