Panel to take up staff split on August 23
Hyderabad: The Kamalnathan Committee constituted for distribution of employees between AP and TS has been inundated with objections from employees over giving “options” to employees to choose the state of their choice on grounds of spouses and health issues.
The Committee had given 10 days to file objections on draft guidelines issued by it for distribution of employees, which ended on August 5. The Committee will meet on August 23 to draft the final guidelines after examining the objections filed by employees and refer it to the Centre for approval. Majority of the objections were filed by Telangana employees. They sought options be given to AP employees to work in Telangana only if either wife or husband is working in Telangana and not if both are working for AP government.
Similarly, those seeking options to continue in Telangana on health grounds should be asked to undergo medical tests conducted by the government medical board instead of allowing reports from private and corporate hospitals.
The TS employees also demanded that the committee order an inquiry by an independent agency into the service records of all the AP employees to determine their nativity. They complained that the service records have been manipulated to claim nativity of TS.
Interestingly, there were not many objections from the AP employees. They only urged the Committee that the provision to give “options” for all the employees be strictly implemented in order to ensure that the interests of all the employees are protected. They refuted the complaints of TS employees that service records were manipulated and said the committee is free to order any inquiry on this issue.
