Bengaluru man butchers daughter’s boyfriend
Bengaluru: “When your son comes back with my daughter, he will be chopped into pieces,” was the threat Riyaz Khan, the girl’s father, issued to the boy’s mother Salma, through a phone call four days ago. “It has turned into a reality. They have murdered and chopped my son into pieces,” said Salma the mother of deceased, Sadiq Pasha. She was inconsolable before the Bowring Hospital morgue on Thursday noon.
An agitated Riyaz killed his 15-year-old daughter’s boyfriend Sadiq (17) in Hommadevanahalli on Bannerghatta Road early Thursday by beheading him and later cutting the body to pieces. He packed the body parts in a gunny bag and waited till dawn to take it to the K.R. Puram police station and surrender. The accused rode 26 kilometres for this.
Sadiq was in love with Salma, a 7th standard student in a city school. Riyaz (45), small time financier, was against his daughter’s relationship and had warned Sadiq’s family. On August 2, he lodged a missing complaint in K.R. Puram police station when he learnt that his daughter had eloped with Sadiq.
According to the police, Riyaz got to know about the whereabouts of the couple, who had eloped on July 30. He, along with his wife Ashraf headed for Hommadevanahalli, where the couple was staying, on Wednesday night. While Riyaz took Sadiq outside, Ashraf stayed with the girl in the room. Early Thursday, an agitated Riyaz, who was also in an inebriated state, hacked Sadiq with a machete, beheaded him and then chopped the body into pieces and packed it in a gunny bag.
When the murderer reached K.R. Puram police station, the police immediately took him to the crime scene, where he confirmed to the horrendous act.
The couple was reportedly in love from childhood and were neighbours. Both the families were staying in Siddapura, while their children were studying in a local school nearby. Around six months ago, Riyaz family shifted to K.R. Puram. However, the love affair between Sadiq and the girl continued.
On July 30, the girl had made a call to Sadiq and informed him about her engagement with another boy, fixed by her parents. They then decided to elope.
Just few hours before the murder, Sadiq made a call to Salma on Wednesday evening and told her that he will return and meet her at 6.30 pm at a park near Siddapura. Salma went to the park but neither her son nor the girl showed up.
