Film City is not enough
Hyderabad: The Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that the state would build a film city on a 2,000-acre plot. On this occasion, Thammareddy Bharadwaj held a press conference, and stated that the government needs to do much more than building the film city.
“We are very happy that a Film City is coming up, but the government needs to do more for the development of the industry,” he says.
He added that, the ticketing system must be computerised, only then will the tax reach the government properly. “Getting permissions from the police, for film and TV shootings is a big problem; the government should make it easy for shooting units. Some people have a monopoly, which should stop immediately. If the government announces some sops, it will facilitate small producers,” says Thammareddy
