Chennai: Vishal- Shruti starrer Poojai in Hari’s direction is in the news ever since the movie was launched. The latest one from Hari’s stable is that Vinay Bihari, the Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister of Bihar, who is known for his controversial statements, has been brought on board as a vital character in Poojai. Apparently, he plays a district collector who appears at a crucial climax in the movie.

Vishal are being canned by Hari. When Hari and his assistants were scouting for proper locations to shoot, politician Bihari had met them and expressed his desire to act in the movie. After all, Bihari is part of Bhojpuri industry and has penned over 1000 songs and rendered 300 numbers in Bhojpuri films. He is also said to have directed and produced a movie in which he roped in eleven elected members of the Legislative Assembly who showcased their acting abilities.
One may recall the singer-turned-politician was granted bail in a case related to composing ‘obscene’ songs for a music album over a decade ago. More recently, Bihari’s statement blaming mobile phones and non-vegetarian diet for increased rape incidents in the country received mixed response from the public.
