Tamil Nadu Agricultural University students protest ‘breaking semester’ system
Around 100 students including 60 girl students continued their protest for the third consecutive day
Coimbatore:Around 100 students including 60 girl students continued their protest for the third consecutive day on Wednesday against the 'breaking semester' system of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).
The students boycotted their classes and squatted in the campus protesting against the new pattern introduced for arrear exam in March 2013. Under the new system, students who fail to clear pending arrears of the first year are barred from entering the third year. Similarly, they can join the fourth year only if they clear arrears in second year, say students.
The students demand that the college administration allow them write the arrear examination without losing an academic year.
