Police drive in Hyderabad to raise awareness on terror hits
Hyderabad: The Central Zone conducted a massive ‘cordon-and-search’ operation in the Feelkhana area at Begum Bazaar on Wednesday. Police officials said that they selected the area to conduct the searches as a terror group had conducted a recce of the area before the Dilsukhnagar blasts.
The police also wanted to raise awareness among the locals about safety measures they should be taking in order to avoid security threats like terrorist strikes.
“An arrested operative of the Indian Mujahideen, Maqbool, had confessed that he, along with another suspect, had conducted a recce of Feelkhana and surrounding areas in Begum Bazaar. So we chose the place to conduct the cordon-and-search operation, and sensitise the people regarding possible threats,” a senior police official from Central Zone said.
