Fresh trouble looms for Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh
NGO, had filed a PIL seeking a CBI inquiry into the graft allegations against Singh
New Delhi: Fresh trouble appears to loom for the Congress in Himachal Pradesh with the Centre telling the Delhi High Court Wednesday there seems to be a money laundering case made out against CM Virbhadra Singh.
Additional solicitor-general Sanjay Jain said, “Prima facie there is enough material on record to register an FIR. It is for the CBI to explain why it is holding back. It is a clear case of money laundering.”
Common Cause, an NGO, had filed a PIL through advocate Prashant Bhushan seeking a CBI inquiry into the graft allegations against Mr Singh when he was Union steel minister. The CM, however, denied these allegations.
