Hyderabad: Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Assembly K. Jana Reddy on Tuesday constituted a new body of the Telangana Legislature Party with Dr J. Geetha Reddy, T. Jeevan Reddy and Komati reddy Venkata Reddy as deputy leaders. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and T. Ram Mohan Reddy were named secretaries, V. Sampath Kumar was chosen as party whip and Puvvada Ajay Kumar was appointed treasurer.
Normally, there used to be only one Congress Legislature Party Committee for both the Legislative Assembly and Council. Since Mr Jana Reddy and D. Srinivas were elected as Leaders of Opposition for the both the houses officially, there is no CLP Leader functioning.
The AICC used to name a person as CLP leader. Since it has not done so far, Mr Jana Reddy decided to constitute a body for the Assembly, and thus indirectly forcing Mr Srinivas to announce another body for the Council.
