Centre will resort to more persuasion to subdue stir
Students aspiring for Civil services are demanding CSAT be scrapped completely
New Delhi: Students aspiring for Civil services are demanding that CSAT be scrapped completely to which the government has not agreed till now as the admit cards for the exams scheduled for August 24 have already been issued.
“The reason why the government acted swiftly on the issue is that it knew the matter was extremely sensitive. Now that the students have rejected the formula and have threatened to further intensify their agitation, which is being reported from other states also, some preventive measures will have to be put in place. But considering the fact that students are involved the Government does not want to handle it firmly and would resort more to persuasion,’’ a senior government official said.
