AP pins hope on Microsoft CEO, a Telugu man from Seemandhra, for investments
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will rope in private players to give a boost to the Information Technology sector in the state.
The state government will adopt Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model to build IT towers, IT parks and IT zones in Vijayawada, Vizag, Tirupati, Anantapur and Kakinada in the next three years.
About 15 per cent reservation in built-up space will be given to women, and 25 per cent investment subsidy on fixed capital with a maximum limit of Rs 25 lakh will also be provided to women. An empowered mission for electronics and IT promotion will be established to give a fillip to the development of the sector and to take faster decisions.
IT minister Palle Ragunatha Reddy will lead a high-level delegation to the US and UK to invite NRIs to set up companies in Andhra Pradesh. Mr Naidu will also conduct a special meeting with IT bosses soon and invite them to become share holders in the development of Andhra Pradesh.
“Hopes are high among the people of Seemandhra that Mr Naidu can convince Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, a Telugu man from Seemandhra, to set up a Microsoft office-cum-campus in residuary AP,” sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said, adding that youngsters from the state need not go to Hyderabad for jobs in four to five years from now as Mr Naidu would bring IT companies, pharma and other industries in Andhra Pradesh.
