Kangana Ranaut’s producers ready to pay hiked fee
Mumbai: As the adage goes, “nothing succeeds like success” and Kangana Ranaut has made that rather happy realisation after Queen. Although she had received acclaim for her roles in Fashion, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and Krishh 3, it is Queen that has made Kangy a force to reckon with.
The actress recently confirmed that she has hiked her fees by 50 per cent. What’s great for Kangana, however, is that filmmakers are scrambling to meet her new fee without hesitating.
Cases in point are the producers of Katti Batti and Tanu Weds Manu, who’ve put together the necessary finances to meet Kangana’s hiked fee. But with the actress having pulled off a successful film that didn’t depend on any leading man (something only Vidya Balan has pulled off before), they feel it’s a worthwhile investment.
“Kangana deserves the fee she quotes. Contemporaries like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif have long dictated their take home package, it’s time Kangana entered the league as well,” said a trade expert.
