Was this fashion photoshoot 'Nirbhaya rape case' inspired?
Mumbai: A fashion shoot named ‘The Wrong Turn’, created a furore on social media and was later pulled down. While many believe, it was themed on the Nibhaya case, where a 23-year-old student was gangraped in a moving bus in Delhi in December 2012, photographer Raj Shetye told Buzzfeed "It is not based on Nirbhaya." He added, "But being a part of society and being a photographer, that topic moves me from inside."
"This is in no way meant to glamorize the act, which was very bad," Shetye told BuzzFeed. "It’s just a way of throwing light on it."
Shetye defended himself against critics on Facebook.
The gallery was later pulled down.
Here are a few reactions:

Rape is not inspiration for a fashion shoot.I don't know what the photographer was thinking doing an editorial shoot inspired by 'Nirbhaya'

Are we now glamourizing rape by doing a photoshoot inspired by Nirbhaya? My stomach just churned. https://t.co/OdtgMPG4ZP
