Indications but no rain, say experts

Not much rainfall is expected over next two days in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Despite another low pressure formation in the Bay of Bengal, not much rainfall is expected over the next two days in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The dry run in Hyderabad is also expected to continue, increasing the rainfall deficit. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Tuesday.

Rain is expected only the districts of Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal of Telangana State. The low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is also expected to intensify over the next one or two days.

“Isolated heavy rain would occur in the districts of Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal of Telangana State, on Tuesday. After that, there will be an increase in rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and no large change in Rayalaseema and Telangana State,” said Dr K. Seetha Ram, director-in-charge, Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad.

With the dry run this monsoon season extending, meteorologists are also concerned about the contradictions in predictions being far more than previous years. “This year, there are many contradictions. Indications of rains are there, but the required systems are not forming,” Dr Seetha Ram said.
