Andhra Pradesh Invest forgotten in reorganisation Bill

Organisation seeks merger with Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corp
Hyderabad: The bifurcation of APInvest, the key nodal agency of undivided AP government to promote investments in key sectors, has been forgotten in the AP Reorganisation Act.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao on July 30 had written to the Centre asking it to keep in the tenth schedule for one year. However, the investment and Infrastructure Corporation is seeking its merger with the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation although AP government has already gained control over it.
AP government owned up the organisation and even a picture of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was put up on its website. APInvest is the key organisation in coordinating with foreign companies including Johnson and Johnson for setting up the industry in Kottur of Mahbubnagar and a textile company in Nellore district. APinvest was instrumental in Procter and Gamble, Pepsi, Isuzu, Jhonson and Johnson companies setting up shop in AP and Telangana.
An official of APInvest said, “The government had forgot to add APinvest in the tenth schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act. We are now working for both the states. Telangana CM had written to the Centre asking to keep APinvest in the tenth schedule to serve both the states for a year,”
Former Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had established APInvest as the nodal agency for promoting Andhra Pradesh as the best business state in the country. “APInvest is the single point of contact for facilitating investments into the state and would function like a corporate MNC under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister,” said the official. The website of APInvest shows that Naidu is the chairman of the agency.
Telangana State Industrial and Infrastr-ucture Corporation MD Jayesh Ranjan said, “We haven’t recommended for keeping it in the tenth schedule. We are for its merger with TSIIC. As this is a small organisation with a few employees it makes no difference even if it is with AP. We have no intention to maintain it.”
Mr Pradeep Chandra Principal Secretary (industries) is now cordinating with private companies for investments.
