Oommen Chandy ready to rectify mistakes

Plus-2 controversies unwarranted, says Chief Minister

Thrissur: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that if there were any irregularities in the allotment of more Plus-Two batches, the government was ready to rectify the mistakes. He told reporters here on Saturday that the ongoing controversies were unwarranted.

Mr. Chandy also said that nobody was saying what actually went wrong in the allotment of more batches. “The government and I would take up the responsibility for any kind of malpractices without blaming any department. The complaints regarding the allocations are natural. However, our aim is to begin Plus-Two courses in all the schools in the state,” he added.

When asked about writer Arundhati Roy’s controversial speech on Mahatma Gandhi, he said “defaming Gandhi is a serious offence even if it is Arundhati Roy.”
