Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wants one person from every family in ‘Sunrise Andhra Pradesh’ to be an e-literate by 2020. To achieve this, the AP government will tie up with the industries and make them partners in revising the curriculum right from school to higher and technical education. “Syllabus in educational institutions will be updated along with industry participation. Industry-accredited online courses will be introduced in professional colleges. Focus would be on human resource development,” officials said and added that the CM also wants to make the state the best in the country in terms of e-governance by 2020. A high-level team comprising Human resource Development (Education) Minister and senior officials will also visit Kerala to study the ongoing e-literacy project launched by former PM Manmohan Singh. Kerala achieved 100 per cent literacy and has mandated to achieve cent per cent literacy by 2016.
IT Minister P. Raghunatha Reddy said the state government has already decided to introduce bio-metric system to register attendance in all the educational institutions from primary schools to post graduate colleges in the state. Of the total 31,286 out of school children identified, as many as 24,956 were brought back to school in the last two months and remaining 6,330 will be in school in the next one month.
The mission of the Chief Minister to make one person from every household as an e-literate is aimed at bridging the digital divide and creating a level playing platform for all. The e-learning and e-literates will also go a long way in realising the dream of making the state a golden, happy and Sunrise Andhra Pradesh, an official in CMO said.
