Lucknow: Elections in Uttar Pradesh are two-and-a-half years away but chief ministerial aspirants in the BJP have already started campaigning for themselves on social networking sites.
The party’s CM candidates are not ‘directly’ involved in staking their claims for the post but their supporters are making no bones about their aspirations.
A page on Facebook is titled ‘Laxmikant Bajpai for CM Uttar Pradesh’ and has got 1,753 likes.
It urges people to ‘like this page and encourage him’. The page gives details about his academic and professional achievements.
His supporters are already addressing him on the page as future CM.
Varun Gandhi who has five FB pages devoted to him, two of which project him as the next CM of UP and has fans fawning over him.
His official fan page has 4.6 lakh likes and is filled with slogans like ‘UP ki aandhi, Varun Gandhi’.
